With Perry's still draggin his feet on the wheels for my AA/FA, and just finishing the T build on DPMCC's forum, I'm getting posting withdrawel pains. I'm gonna try to keep this in the TRaK's parameters if I can slip the engine by the censors. I think it's a large block Ford, blown. Eliminating the flathead with the hole thru the block, I also have to eliminate the axle rod going thru the engine compartment. I have cut down the front wheels and had to play with the homemade brass axle rods to keep the steering rod off the ground. It is laying on that scale rule, about 1/32" ground clearance. Hope to make this a 'squirrel' driver, but not as rough as the JC Whitney special.

another convertible! the Whitney special was a really cool ride! i started on my '49 coupe recently and had to fix the front axle deal. i did it a bit different, but similar to you. Dave

Got the engine and tranny in the frame all right. Had to notch the firewall a bit, so figgered that we better check the interior tub. This always seems to be the hang up when you start changing things. Sure enough, new tranny wouldn't clear the hump. Igor and i started shaving the plastic underneath the tub. No significant help. Started shaving the corners, then the top of the tranny itself. Still no help. So, I'm thinking.....This is Geezer's Garage, Not Foose or Coddingham, what would real squirrels do? Igor was out in the garage bay whacking off the rest of the top of the tranny. I stopped him and said we'll do this right. I like to imagineer, but am reluctant to overly do things that would be downright impossible on a 1:1. Like gluing tires to the bottomside of fenders to lower a model, or have a tranny under the floor with the whole top half cut off. Ok. real squirrels would just cut a hole in the floorpan and then possibly weather seal it with duct tape, because, like me, they don't like doing interiors, especially building new tranny humps. So Igor and I built a new top for the mutilated tranny and cut a hole in the floorpan

Dave, This blower is a left over from the first order that I had put in to Best Resins in early autumn 2005. I was replicating my SIL's '78 Mustang Cobra. If I remember correctly, his 302 has a Paxton blower. This one from BR looked like what I needed. By the time BR finally sent my order, I had kitbashed a blower, finished the model, and had givin it to SIL that xmas.

That tranny tunnel doesn't look...uurrrrp...errrrpppppppphhh....phew... Doesn't......urrrrp....look....urrk ukk urrrrrrrr.....bad. No!!! I'm kidding!!! I would do that, whether on a model, or on 1:1. Whatever (within reason) it takes to make it fit! I like the idea of the toploader in there anyway. It IS a FORD!!!!

You talkin 'bout where I live? Crystal River, Florida Checked in with SIL. That's a B&M blower on his 302 Been doin this'n that for this build. Pretty much onto the assembling stage. Decided to leave it in primer, so it won't be too long until I can move it to the freekin shelf.

just wondering where you have been here at the board! you've been kinda quiet. here i am sitting looking at ice and snow thinking about how nice Florida probably is right now.
looks cool so far, primer is always good! Weiand and B&M both made those blowers, so it doesn't matter too much i guess. my friend had one on his '69 Chevelle in high school. keep us updated! Dave
