Mitch Capps is not a member on this forum, but here is a kustomized '68 Camaro he built. the wheels he used don't fit in here....but this is to show that there is a lot more to do than changing wheels. Im glad that you arent letting muscle cars into this forum, not that i have a problem with them but every other board I go to i have to sift through the dub rimz and other stuff to find something I like. This board i open up every topic and find something i like. Thats the way i like it!

Scott, how far have you looked into this site? i'll suggest this to you, look at every picture that you can see here and and take note of what you see. look closely because, these pictures show exactly what you can do to a car or truck to fit it in here. we aren't trying to be jerks or to run you off, what we do here is to appreciate the true essence of customizing and hot rod beginnings. do you agree that all hot rodding and customizing had to begin somewhere? here, we celebrate that very beginning. i suggest that you do a computer search on hot rodding and customizing. i don't know what the link is but type in Rik Hoving then study very closely the photos that you see. pay particular attention to the engine dress ups(carbs etc) interiors, wheels (rims) body modifications and everything that you see no matter how inconsequential you think it might be. all we want to do here is to educate you and let you see how we appreciate the types of builds they we love here. as i said earlier, your '31 Ford and your '49 Merc AND you are welcome here, all i ask is that you are interested enough to stay, let us teach you about our favorite era of automotive history. Scott, you should go lurk over at the HAMB (www.jalopyjournal.com/forum) for about a month and see what's going on in the 1:1 world of traditional rods & kustoms. If what you see there stirs your soul to build a model version, then show it here.
'The Rodders Journal' & 'Rod & Kulture' magazines are also great print sources to get a view into the world of traditional rods & kustoms. If you want to post something here that you don't see in these 3 places I've mentioned, it's not approriate for this forum.
Have fun!

Scott, I would also have to suggest what was kind of eluded to earlier. Look around on this forum and get a REALLY good feel for the OVERALL context of the forum. The cars range from a 1923 T bucket, to a '64 Plymouth (I think), but each car has it's own unique style that stays within the "guidlelines" of this forum. I have several rides going on right now that are all acrossed the board in terms of build style, but each one stays within the "guidelines". Check out "Hot Tamale", or "Dragula" or "GoodWoody" or "Toad" under the "On the dagumb bench" section. Each car is different aesthetically, but the same basically. Wheels and tires are kind of a period thing, so for your Camaros (kind of a hard car to post here) would need to be pretty special (customized, that is) but still recognizable as the car that rolled off the assembly line (kind of). Muscle cars are just difficult to pass off in a Hot Rod world, as they are still musclecars. Try your hand at buildin' somethin' like what ya see on this forum, and see how it feels. You might like it! We ain't sayin' that you don't belong or that we don't want ya' here. No! That ain't it at all! We are here to share and spread this enjoyment that we have for this particular niche of building style. It is a style that , for some, has to be studied to be understood. Take it in for a while, get some ideas and inspirations (hopefully) and build YOUR version of what you see on this forum. Post it up and share it with us. And, hey! I LIKE them discs! They would look good on a '40 Ford standard coupe that is slightly lowered in the front with a mild flathead. There ya have it. A HotRod '40 that didn't take too much work, and is ALL YOURS!

i am having a hard time finding a 1:1 photo for reference.
i would say that if it was me, i would paint it flat black, white scallops or pin striping , baby moons on fat whites, lowered and accented interior seat piping and buttons
