The tyres in the Revell/Monogram kits were originally tooled as Good Year Blue Streak Sports Car Specials (which are bias ply, not radial BTW). The lettering has since been removed from the sidewalls. These Blue Streaks, as well as Firestone Indy tyres, were somewhat popular in the mid-late '60s and you will see them in magazine features and car show coverage. So, for a hardline '65 cutoff, they're a "no", but they should be acceptable for late '60s, at least on the rear. Still, everything else needs to hang together to represent the period...

Cool models and welcome to TRAK, I'd say spend some time on the HAMB forums and you'll get an eyeful of what kinds of cars were built back in the day (check out the "cool photos from magazines" thread or any of the threads concerning vintage bonneville or El Mirage photos). You'll also see modern cars that are being built in the spirit of the cars of the 50s and 60s. The "1940s period correct hot rods" and "1950s period correct hot rods" threads are good too. Those threads have some drama, guys arguing about what was actually done back in the day...but it's sometimes instructive to read those discussions.
Andy Southard's books "Hot Rods of the 1950s" and "Hot Rods and Customs of the 1960s" will show a year-by-year progression of the trends of the era. The old magazines like "Hot Rod", "Rod and Custom", "Rodding and Restyling" etc are a fantastic source, and are often available on the online auction sites like Epay.

Concerning the tires, they're the same exact tire on both models. The roadster just has whitewalls instead of black walls. They're bias ply tires, not radials. I have four models here with those exact tires with whitewalls.

Yikes, Roger! You're right! Bummer since it ruins the otherwise nice Monogram Fendered roadster. I hate wide fronts!!!!! It's just another one of those things that it depends on the model they're on. Fenderless, definitely not. Fenders, it's a judgement call to be made by the builder IMO. The four models I have here just wouldn't look right with skinny fronts. I probably wouldn't stick them on anything older than a '36 model.
