OK, first of all I know it looks finished, but it's not. Still needs the engine and exhaust. So here's the skinny: chopped 3", channeled 4", hood sectioned 4", rear roll pan and modified tonneau from AMT '53 pickup, and the tailgate is the '50 unit with the center panel smoothed. Monogram 1/24 whitewalls from '57 Vette, with chromies from Revell Merc. Tri-bar headlights from an old AMT Parts Pack, and tri-bar taillights from the Revell Merc. It's gonna get a full-dress flatty under the hood, with exhaust running along the bed rails. Can't see it in the pix, but the interior consists of the stock dash with a slightly modified seat and door panels from the Revell Merc. This isn't a curbside; the frame was seriously re-worked to sit this low. Paint is Testors one-coat Fiery Orange lacquer with lotsa clear.

WOW!!!! Me likey! I love what you've done so far. The exhaust is just meant to run along side of the bed. This is gonna make me move mine closer to the top of the pile..... Rats! Like I need another project on the mind! lol ;D

With it sitting that low it's gotta run along the bed. Awesome build Randy!

RandFink! Once again, you have done us Iowegians proud, buddy! I have a VERY strong Orange taste in my mouth right now, and I want MORE!!!!! GREAT color. I have 2 of these kits yet to be built. THIS motivates me to get at least one of them on the bench. Maybe this weekend for the "Late-Nighter" build on Saturday? Perfect idea for the exhaust following the bedrails! I was gonna do that with a '40 Ford PU that I have. I wanna see some shots if that frame on this. Got a "How-to" ?

I wanna see some shots if that frame on this. I'll try to get a pic or two of the frame tomorrow. It's heavily C-notched in the back, with the axle flipped over on top of the springs, and the axle is mounted on top of the springs in front too, with a milder C-notch. It's Z'd 1.5 scale inches in the front too. And THANKS everybody, for the kind words!

Where have you been hiding THIS?!! Holy smoke, what a kemp! An instant classic in my book. I like how the headlights & taillights are tied together, design-wise. Awesome color and rolling stock, and that tonneau cover really pulls it all together. Beautiful!!

Where have you been hiding THIS?!! THANKS, Matt! Actually, I just got it to this point about 5 days ago; it's been a mad thrash over the last 3 weeks, from start to... where it is now.

another winner as usual Randy !!!! the hood is so much sleeker now without the factory ventilation or whatever it was supposed to be. if it were me, the only other thing i'd done would be to fill the joint lines. but hey, who am i to talk !
