Wow. Tough crowd. This place has really gone down. Unless you are kitbashing a hundred kits with a thousand aftermarket parts and airbrushing custom House of kolor paint no one really cares. That is why I don't really hang here anymore. It's kind of sad really.

Nice work Ray. I like the added blue paint with the weathering, looks like its been in an old barn for 50 years.

One thing, the roof insert panel wasn't metal, it was fabric, so the rust you have on it tends to stick out like a sore thumb.
Great weathering overall though! Very well done.

Yes I know that and it is in the works. Lol I didn't weather it if you look at the initial post you will see I left this in primer. So it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb as much as you thought otherwise you would have spotted I left it for later detail. Thank you for the interest.

As for the overspray, I was a little lazy to mask the area off. I airbrushed so I figured I could get away with a little overspray. It'll cover.

Please don't give up on us. There are a few of us here that try to keep the content moving. I just wish we could get more lurkers to share. That being said, I am interested in your build. I have been wanting to try something like what you're doing. Maybe if you could walk us through some of the steps you're taking in your technique? How did you achieve the rust undercoat. Did you use the hairspray or salt technique before the color coat?

Craig. Thank you for the interest. Yes I used the salt technique. I have tried it before on my amt 40 Ford sedan I was building like the diamond in the rough. I started with a base of red oxide primer. After that I sponged some rust type paint on. I started with AK interactive crusted rust deposits kit. Lightest to darker. I also sponged some rust looking acrylics on as well. I misted some water on then sprinkled salt over areas of the body. After that I airbrushed the body color on. After it was dry I flaked the salt away with my finger and a toothbrush.
