Here's one of my parts box builds, using bits and pieces from a huge number of different kits. It's gonna be a low-budget gasser with a dual carb Y-block, Hedman hedders, Ford F100 truck axle, custom seats from Lindberg's 34 Ford Pickup, a simple roll bar and various low-tech details... A true weekend warrior form the lower ranks of the gasser classes.

I really like the look of your 49. I know it wasnt "legal"back then but I like it without the grille and front bumper.A couple of suggestions...hang a moon tank in the grille opening, add some tow tabs to the front and raise the front about another 1/8".Dont think Im criticizing it at all, I think it looks killer as is too. That hood scoop is perfect for your gasser also.I'll be following this one closely.

Thanks for your comments guys! This is the look I'm aiming for: I intend to build it with the grille, but without the front bumper. The color is gonna be a dark crimson, close to an original '49 color, though I haven't yet decided if I'm gonna paint the front fenders or the hood in some sort of primer, just to give it that "in progress"-look.

Nice ambitions. This'll be cool. Low buck anything has more charisma than just spending $$$$$$$ (that includes modeling, too)
