I got to spend Saturday afternoon with some buddies, carvin' plastic, and here's what I cooked up. Before ya ask, I did this because the 1/24 Monogram '56 hardtop kit is a total joke. It just ain't right. So anyhoo, this kitbash uses the front half of a '56 Nomad for the Belair trim, the back half of a sedan for the trunklid, and the roof and beltline from the brand-new '55 hardtop. The wheels are from the Revell '49 Merc, and the tires are from a Monogram 1/24 '57 Vette. This is destined to be a replica of my 1:1 '56. Randy

The '55 hardtop is out? When did that happen? Gotta find one now. The Revell '55 just hit the LHS in my area late last week. I grabbed 2 of 'em; I haven't opened up the second one yet, but it'll stay a '55. ;D And thanks for the kind words, guys!

Very nice!! Isn't it a shame to have to do so much work to correct kit flaws? The story of my life.

Very nice!! Isn't it a shame to have to do so much work to correct kit flaws? The story of my life. Steve It is a bummer to perform a lot of work just to correct flaws in kits, but that's not what randfink is doing here. He's creating a body stlye that has not yet been offered by revell based on the excellent 55 convertible tooling. They've done a 55 convertible, 56 nomad, 56 210 post, and now a 55 hardtop. Next year they are doing a 57 150 black widow. Kudos to revell for getting the most out of the tooling, they are great kits. Looking good randy! I'm glad you are gonna do a replica of your car. Good luck with the bra tho, lol.
