Heres my latest update on my 32 project. I laid down Model Master Inca Gold over buffed Mettalizer aluminum plate (the brightest silver paint in my stash). After a clear coat of MM hi gloss, all it needs is a once-over with some polishing compound. I don't think I've ever laid down a color/clear coat as smooth... everything always needs a little work to smooth it out! On the down side, some of my body work ghosted up, but I'm going to accept it and call it good! The scratch built firewall will be covered in mirror mylar. I'm planning to make some pearl white tuck and roll panels for the running boards and roof insert. The stock kit interior will be pearl white also. Question... Where are the spark plugs on a nailhead engine? I can't find any good ref pics. I tried yet another new technique with the Alclad. I always have problems with the black base bleeding thru, so... I primed with Tamiya flat black, cleared it with Tamiya gloss clear and shot the parts in Alclad polished aluminum. Alclad polished aluminum seems to go on better for me and to my eye, looks about the same as chrome. Anyways, I'm just about ready to build up the chassis and running gear. Enjoy... Comments always welcome!

this is looking primo! are those machined hairpins? looks like some RB bolts, but can't tell. if they are machined, that is cool i am just wondering. the color is great! i like the way it's coming! i tried to get you some pics of that engine, but you are right, there is nothing showing good side shots. can you take a good "side shot" photo of the engine? i will send it back with marks where the plugs go.

Hairpins are the kit pieces from the Revell 32. I've gotten several clear pics of nailheads since I posted, but thanks.

I've seen this elsewhere Steve, but wanted to post my comments here since this is "home" for me now. This thing is freaking sweet! I absolutly love the color and the details you are throwing at this one. Do you think you can finish it before the "year of the deuce" is over?
Looking forward to more!!!

Hey Craig, Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it. I really expect that I'll be 95% done at the end of the year, knowing how fast I work! I won't have any long break from work this Xmas season, so that cuts into bench time.

You realize, of course, that the way I sectioned this and kept the kit roof height was because of your red 32 p/u (your avatar).
