Your '40 looks great!!! A little tip: To make the bass-strings look like ribbed rubber hoses, you can slip a piece of black heat-shrinking tube for electrical wires over the sting, after it has been bent to the desired shape, and then gently heat it with a hairdryer (of course before attaching it to the model).

i was thinking about the heat shrink tubing thing too! for the tight bends i did here it probably wouln't have worked, the tubing would have been torn up by the pliers while bending, but for some gentler curves probably excellent! the other thing too may just be to paint the wire black. i have some more wire in bigger sizes that may work better in some cases too.
