Can't remember the exact issue # here at work. I know it was after #36. I think it was #38. The feature was about the LA Roadsters CC. There are a few B/W pics of it in the feature. It's the black(?) one with the deuce grille shell channelled really far down on the rails and a white(?) insert.

That little black roadster impressed me, too, when I saw it. The pic there had the hood removed to show the mill. In issue #40 they did a small feature on Paul Chamberlain who worked as a designer and commercial artists and is now retired and does oil paintings of landscapes and also hot rod art. He has a website: www.prcfineart.com/ . The picture in issue #40 includes the hood in place and shows off the lines of the car to advantage. I can see why you would be inspired by it. The RMCM '29 transkit would be nearly perfect to build a replica. The only really tough challenges would be the chrome hood louvers and custom windshield frame Chamberlain built for the car.

Jonathan, I can see why you'd be inspired by that little rod. I remember seeing it in TRJ and thinking how cool it would be in scale. It screams Look at me. It's about as true to what a Hot Rod should be as any I've seen.
If the AMT '29 roadsters were more plentiful I'd suggest a CBP, but I won't as that would be just another hole in my head.
Bernard, the roadster turned out killer. Great subject matter and execution of a classic style of Hot Rod.

Yeah, that's the one! I picked that one out of the two-page spread of the club. The ultra-low grille shell is what does it for me. ;D One of these days I'll start gathering the unique parts to start this project. The windshield looks like something I might be able to make up from the Citroen kits. It is similar enough to modify, I believe. There is just too much on my plate and in the queue already!
