Using the corrected Ardun from the reissued Revell '50 Ford pickup. Cut apart 3 Strombergs from an AMT '36 Ford kit. Stacks are polished aluminum tubing. Over the frame headers will be from the Phanotm Vicki ekit. Still have to add the carb linkages. Chopped this one. The paint is Duplicolor GM Slate Grey. It AIN'T a rat rod 'cause it's shiney! (Still not polished out yet.) Wheels & caps from the Revell '50 Ford. Trim rings are Bare Metal Foil. Tires are from The Modelhaus. I usually don't go too long without woodgraing something. That's all for now.

Thats coming along nicely. My next sedan will be chopped too. The only thing im skeptical about on this one is the woodgrained dash.

Very nice, subtle chop; I also like the grey a lot, different color choice that contrasts with the red rims great! I think when I finally get one of these I will need to put a DeSoto mill in it...

The only thing im skeptical about on this one is the woodgrained dash. I didn't understand the question until I realized that I wear socks older than you. ;D Many hot rods and later-day street rods have wooden or woodgrain-painted dashes. There are a few 1:1 aftermarket companies that produce wood dashes. For years, throughout the 30's and 40's, "Deluxe" model Fords, and other makes, came from the factory with woodgrain painted dashes and interior window moldings. Check out some of the products at this link. www.wabbitsww.com/Keep questioning things. That's how we all learn stuff.

Man, that chop is perfect! I love the stance and height in the mockups, but it's too bad the wheels aren't attached in the pics. That's OK, when I finally do start mine, it'll be pretty damn low!

Lyle I think you got yourself a winner there. I really need to get the nerve up to try a chop on one of these. Saturdays meeting is going to be a crazy one again. ;D

You know that Norm and several other vendors will have a chopped body soon. Norm said he was chopping one, so I chopped this one and painted it instead of giving it to Norm to cast. I DID, however, make a sedan delivery out of this body which Norm now has and is much more accurate than the one currently in Norm's catalog. I can say that because I made the OLD sedan delivery from an old Switchers kit years ago.
