Tim, if you're looking to put a vintage helmet on the seat or something, just remember those old leather or fabric helmets don't have a permanent 'shape' without a head in them, like the later plastic or fibre-glass ones. I have a WWII soviet fighter helmet made of canvas and cotton batting in my collection and I wore leather helmets in my early motorsickle days, they kinda collapse without a head, if you know what I mean. Good luck with your quest, your take on this car is just great.

I was thinking maybe of taking a baseball cap and putting some material on the sides of it to make it look like and old style helmet. I'll see what I can come up with.

I've done about as much as I can right now until I get the decal thing figured out so here she sits waiting patiently. First off: Damn fine piece of work!!! Second: Don't worry about the decals - I don't know if you've already heard it, but Teague's car is the next planned Model King special issue of the Hudson. Getting one of those as donor is bound to be the cheapest way to acquire a set of acurately scaled decals.

That would be great news if they were coming out with it by September 14th when I will be entering the car in a contest. I'll just have to make do with what I have now and either when the time comes redo the body or just build another. I think redoing the body would be the easiest.

Finally decided to go with the decals I had and got the left side finished up tonight. Next time I'm going to wait until I get decals in hand before I decide on what version I'm going to build. ;D

Sagafragginrickindagnabit!!!! Just my luck, after getting all the decals on I was informed by ChrisV that Moebius Models is coming out with a new kit.... All that work on trying to get the correct decals. Why didn't they just come out with this version in the first place? Here's mine all done up with what I could come up with. Looking at that pic it looks like the front #6 decal is on crooked but believe me, it's straight as an arrow.

Thanks guys. I'm getting everything ready to go back together and I see that I forgot to put the wiper assemblies in so I take a look at a 1:1 pic and say to myself, I have to do it. All they supply in the kit is the right and left mechanisms and the center motor. No pulleys no nothing so I have to make them. Here's a few shots of what I did. Piece of round stock in dremel and took a saw and cut grooves into it. Then I drilled a center hole through the stock and then cut off each piece. Firewall with motor and mechanisms with the pulleys and motor arm installed. All wired up and ready for rain! OK, tell me the truth guys, am I going nuts or is this standard building?

Thanks guys! It's always appreciated good or bad. I hope you enjoyed this build as much as I did. She's all finished up and ready to race. Here's a couple pics and you can see more in the "On the shelf" room After everything was together, I had to install all the wires that went from engine to engine bay. This kit was just about one of the best kits for fit that I have built. The only fit problem I had was the glass. They could have made all of them just a tad larger. What was really great were the bumpers/grilles, they fit so good you don't even have to glue them in, they just plug right in and fit perfectly.

The only color grey I can tell you is the dash which is the Tamiya Ocean Grey. The other 4 shades of grey are different primers by Krylon and Rustoleum.
