Should be relatively awesome when you're. Did you lift the woody panels from a kit or are they scratch built? And I dig the seat frame detail.

Should be relatively awesome when you're. Did you lift the woody panels from a kit or are they scratch built? And I dig the seat frame detail. I cut the panels and woody frames from evergreen styrene stock. That was the relatively easy part after cutting away the kit sides. I took a guess from a restoration/barn find photo of a '48 - '51 era Thames/Fordson woody....yes, they did exist. The hard part...the part that put this project on hold, was finding photos of what a stock Thames engine, interior and suspension actually looked like, since I had to back date all of those components in the Thames "gasser" kit. I got some help from several guys on another forum, and eventually found some good photos recently online. Thanks for looking...I'll post some of the build and reference pics, if you want to see them.

I really dig this one! I hope you are able to stick with finishing it without too many more hiccups!

I really dig this one! I hope you are able to stick with finishing it without too many more hiccups! Thanks. I think I have the engine compartment squared away. There is a deck behind the engine on the firewall, with the battery and some kind of tank thingy, not sure what it is for. The one piece flip up hood had to be cut in two to leave the grille in place. I'll need to take a look at the door hinges, they need to be more scale like, and stronger.

not sure where your pain threshold stops for research, but i get some enjoyment from Classic Cars: www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/ford5cwt.htmthe articles usually have a hundredweight of links which provide much more depth to the rabbit hole!

I saw this over at MCM and there's some really neat work going on here!
That being said this seems like it's intended to be a replica stock, not a hot rod or custom?

Nice work! When I first saw this on the other thread, I thought you were using wood to do the wood structure and panel work, the way you’re doing it makes lots more sense. Like the fact that it’s going to pretty much look like a stocker too, I’ve only ever seen a couple of Anglia's done stock, same with the Willys coupes they look great as gassers but out of the ordinary as a Stocker!
They call them “Travelers” in England, I embarrassed myself early on in my English car ownership calling a super nice looking Mini a “Woody” and was told that no matter what the Mark (that’s brand to us non-Euro Elitists, LoL!!) that the “proper term was Traveler!

You mean like a regular Thames panel "traditional" ? They are nice. I thought a woody would be even nicer, and more interesting .

I dig it; but it needs a set of Americans or Ansen slots under it! LOL! Do you have any plans on building it as a hot rod; or is this a stock build? That is what Dennis was getting at; not that there's an issue with it being a Woody or Traveling Wilbury! LOL!
