Since I had so much fun with my Chopped 5-window, I thought I would build a matching pickup, still need to chop the top on it, I already shortened the bed to better fit the `32 fenders, and removed the one reveal from the back of the cab. I am going to paint it to match the 5-window, just not sure if I want a matching flathead or something else for power!! I have this week off from work so I am going to try and get it done before New Years!!

Got the top chopped, about a scale 4", I'll let the glue dry overnight and then use a little filler and primer.

Looking good John!!!!!! At first I thought you snuck into my house and stole mine! LOL! I had to section the hood and the grille to get the Revell parts to line up properly on mine. I cut the belt line off......sanded down the edges of the hood, then reglued the belt line back on. I then sectioned the grille down until it lined up with the hood/hood sides. And, I had to sand the cowl side of the hood and hood sides down a bit because they are a hair too long if the pickup cab is where it's suppose to be........as it was pushing the hood and grille forward. Did you have to do any of this? Ed Hosted on FotkiThe hood is sectioned down in this photo; but it's all taped together...which is why the belt line doesn't line up perfectly.....but you can see it's sitting a bit higher then it will be: Hosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

Ed, I decided to go with the Hemi with no hood sides, so I am using the `34 hood top, had to add a little to the front edge to make it vertical. as for the hood too long I have run into that when building just the Revell kit, I'll be getting more pics up tomorrow!!

Well, Here's where I am at so far, Tops chopped, bed shortened and the rear fenders bobbed, Using the Hemi from the 5-window with a six carb log manifold from Rep& Min.

Really nice, John! The amount of chop and shorten blend together for just-right proportions. The HEMI looks so bitchin' in there too.
When I built my fender-less pickup using the '34 cab & bed on a Revell '32 frame (gunmetal & green) I had the same gap between the front corners of the bed and the frame. I remedied it by cutting out the bed floor so that the raised portion of the built-in floor in the frame would fit into the hole. One could them make a patch over the hole in the bed floor but I didn't bother since I was using a bed cover too. At any rate, it allowed the front corners of the bed to sit flush on the frame.

Here are a couple pics of the almost completed truck, Final assembly has been fighting me a little, I think the truck really wants to be a hi-boy!!! pay no attention to the droopy light bar, I put locating pins in to help locate it, and it is not glued down yet!!!

Your Deuce Pickup is looking mighty fine, John. The blue and red work so well together. It's going to be great companion to your coupe!
I really liked the formed radiator support rods. It's little details like that the add up to make for one killer build.
