Dave, I don't think of myself as an "elitist", or endorse such attitude. It's a very cool build; so if it doesn't meet site guidelines, post it where people can see it. It deserves to be seen! Many TRAK members post their non-traditional builds on other websites, so I can't see suggesting that as a bad thing. I don't want to tell people how to build their models, I just want to be there to help, if asked, just like my fellow modelers have been such a great help to me.

I guess my take on it is a bit different then that how others have taken it. I find it different suggesting someone post a build that might not 100% meet the TRaK guidelines over on the sister forum of Drastic Plastic and "There are many sites that will welcome a build like yours". That statement clearly indicates 'you're not welcome here'. It may not have been meant that way but it certainly comes across that way.
I work in a industry were you have to make sure of what you say and how you say it or leave yourself open to liable for products and services. I pick and choose my words carefully so as not to be misunderstood. The normal on the internet is just post something and hope the person reading it understands what you meant. Obviously, we have a mis-communication problem with what was posted and hopefully what was meant aren't necessarily the same thing.
Perhaps, I'm being over-reactive but if I read it this way there are others who read it the same way. Perhaps there are better ways to address them but, sometimes meeting the issue head on is the best way and normally the way I handle things. So, if my rant makes others stop and reread their post before posting then so be it. If not, at least I didn't just look the other way.

Yeah, I think you are reading it wrong and I do hope that at least by you pointing this out....others will read something twice and think about it before being offended. To me, it's not saying you are not welcome. If that was the case Lyle, Bill....pretty much everyone here would have left the forum long ago....I have deleted damn near everyone's model at least once. Everyone is welcome...don't care how good you are or how much you build....if you like this place and enjoy learning...stick around and grow with us!

Excellent rusting job and weathering. If they won't let you show it here, I'm sure Clay would welcome it at the Rust Bucket Brigades forum ;D

No problem guys.. I just wanted to see why it was considered non Trakable because the link to the rules would not work for me for some reason. It kept asking me to login again, then it said the page was unavailable. I have some in progress that will fit in but I gotta get crackin though because I just found out yesterday that my wife is pregnant with our first one and I am beyond excited. After 9 months, the model building may be on a hiatus for a bit haha.

The concept is cool.....Only thing i see that might not fit are the highback buckets. But in 58 or 9 i got an up close an personal look of a kustomized Ford pickup and it had seats similar to the buckets in the AMT 49 Merc... although I thought it was a 55, after seeing a cover on the opening of Hot Rod tv the paint job on the 56 seems to be what i remember... i also remember Zupan telling my dad that the seats weren't comfortable.. because they drove that trk from the west coast and the seats hit mid theigh... and the seats swivelled[?] can't spell. Soooo..probably wrks.
