Just curious if this is considered as to modern looking for TRak. I am currently building this. The frame is bobbed on both ends, it is narrowed to the radiator width in the front. To the best of my knowledge there are no wires available that look like these in scale so I am using the Kelsey-Hayes wires from the Monogram '30 Woody. Hosted on FotkiThanks Fletch

I think its a beautiful 32. The smooth hood sides and the o-ring front tires are a close call, but overall its got the look!

As noted I don't know of any source for the Dayton type wires as illustrated here. So, here is what the tires and wheels look like that are being used on the build along with the body. Hosted on Fotki My big concern is that the frame has been bobbed and narrowed.

The frame work shouldn't be a problem for TRaKability. That was done quite a bit in our time period.

Dave,
I don't see one reason why the car in the picture isn't doable for TRaK. I would love to see you build it!
Bobbed frame horns front and rear? People have been cutting those things off for 60 years. Doane Spencer roadster aint got no horns...

got Kelsey-Hays rims Dave ? Duane, the closest thing that I know of for the Kelsey-Hayes wires are those from the Monogram '30 Woody. They need some clean-up to look better, I think the wires from the '32 Sedan are not even close to what the Coupe needs. I'd love to build it with the Daytons, butdon't know of any source for them, so, TRaK it is.

Replicas & Miniatures has these. They are NOT cheap. I think (not 100% sure) they are $45.00 for the entire set, including the resin tires.

Hey Fletch, the wires from Monogram's Mercedes 300 SLR #722, look alot like the ones in the illustration above. They are nicely detailed 3 piece wheels, tho you'd probably need to narrow the fronts a bit and find the right caps, as the come with knock-offs. That's the car that Sterling Moss won the '55 Mille Miglia in. I picked one up for $5 at the NNL West swap a few years ago, good luck, looks like a really cool project!

well, crap !!!!! Dave, if i thought i had a set of good wires, they'd be yours !!!!!
nah, you're right Dave the wires in the '32 Sedan are nasty. if you can think of other wires or rims that might work, let me know. i'll go through my stash and see what i have, and again, if i have something you can use, they're yours !!!!!
