Errr... Houston, we have a problem
1) The basic design of the wheel is an old Halibrand pattern, that is definitely TRaK'able (Nowadays they're manufactured by American Racing).
2) Due to the size they're about as TRaK'able as a set of 18" Torque Thrusts.
3) IIRC, the Black Widow is slightly larger than 1:24-scale, which helps bring them closer to an acceptable scale-diameter, but on the other hand the fact that the diameter is approximately matches the length of the engine block makes their size very apparent.
4) The problem is that they have actually been tolerated on a couple of models posted in the past...
I knew that we would sooner or later be faced with the question about these particular wheels and have to make a decision.
I personally don't consider them TRaK'able for the reasons stated under (2)
What do the rest of you think?

personally, it'd be nice if the different model companies would stop screwing with Traditional rim designs and sizes !!!!!
i feel that since the rims are based on the Halibrand design, that concept is ok, however, the size of the rims are wrong, and that would dis-qualify Randy's model.
i want to see Randy's model accepted; i'm just not sure how to accomodate it !!!!!!

I totally understand it if these wheels aren't acceptable; that's why I asked in the first place. I'd sure love it if there were some wheels like this in a scale 15" size!

They're just modeling the little parts after the 1:1s, who keep screwing with traditional designs and sizes. I think they look cool on the right application, like this truck, but if they weren't made in that size back in the day, then they can't be traditional.

I will chime in on this one. I agree that it is sad. As the donks start to fade out of style, some of thier concepts like the over sized 17-22" rims still are liked. They are just trying to find ways to make them look (yes I will say it) more traditional and classy. Do I like them? On this model, yea, kinda. Should they be smaller. Heck yes. See, its the syle and the whilte walls that work. Does the size work for me? Absolutly not! Actually even if they were a scale 22" rim, they would be over sized here. That being a v8, what would the length be? probably 24-28"? Those rims appear to be the same width as the length of the block if not slighly more. My youngest boy built that 57. Yes they kinda look kool. But in my opinion, certainly not traditional! I never saw big trucks and tractor trailer donning these rims from then! Is the model built here kool! Heck yes!

I like these wheels on the right car, but they are NOT TRaKable. They are simply too big on the model.

I have to say that the car looks badass, but the wheels I am not liking on it. I love it with them decals!

Thanks for the input, everybody! I figured, from the start, that they weren't Trakable. Just wanted to be sure.
