Have a local 1:1 builder, which lives around here ..... Harley Bob. Years ago, he acquired a junk yard 40 Willys. This car was what was left of an actual Custom, built back in the 60s by an 18 year old. So this is how Harley Bob acquired it and transformed it into this. Thus my dream was born. Let's try it in Styrene

Now that's what a custom should look like!

Wow - Willys customs are certainly few and far between...
Assuming that you're planning to build something along the lines of the original version, I think it's great to see such a truly unique approach to customizing this iconic car. (It seems like the current version doesn't know if it wants to be a custom or a street rod, which is really a shame, as it would have a lot more going for it without the bug catcher and blacked out wheels)

I think the original version as a custom puts it more into historical perspective. The newer version - not really, as it's a modern version of a vintage TRAKable car. This car was an oddball, even back in the day.

agreed..if it's done like the original it will be super cool for historical "yep it was done" sake. Nice idea!

Guess I won't show my build, because it's not going to be like the original. It's going to be my way. Anyhow, have a great start on it.

Come on over to our KKIM board and post it there. We don't have year or style restrictions and alot of the TRaK guys are there, too, including Bob. Then, we can all see it!!! That car is way too kool to not be shared, no matter how you choose to build it. kkim.proboards.com/

Wild looking car, very Jag XK with a hint of Allard. Should be an interesting project.
