ABSOLUTELY! Plastic will take Ambroid and Tenax (liquid bonders, not really "glue", they chemically melt and re-solidify the plastic) wonderfully. Resin usually has to be glued with CA (Cyanoacrolyte, or super glue) or epoxy (either 1 minute or 5 minute). After glueing, resin will act pretty much like plastic with sandability, puttying, and the like. Primer is important! Resin sucks the color right out of a topcoat if you don't prime first. Cutting resin is a little tricky, as it can be fragile (does not flex well) and some resin parts (bodies or hoods) CAN warp or have voids (holes in the casting). Resin DOES take well to slight heating to remove warpage. By slight, I mean with warm to slight boiling water, then shocked with cold (tap) water. Resin CAN be addictive. Once you start building with resin accessories, it is hard to stop. Resin dust IS bad for your health. ALWAYS wear protective equipment when working with resin dust such as sanding or cutting, or especially casting!

If'n we don't unnerstand the products were workin' with, then we don't really unnerstand what we are doin' and THAT can lead to mistakes or disaster. This hobby is 'sposed to be fun, NOT frustratin'!

is it hard to cast stuff outta resin? No. The hardest thing about resin casting (other than gettin' the mix right!!!) is makin' the molds. Do you want a 2-part, a 3-part, or even a multi-part mold? Depends on the object you want to cast. I got a couple buddies on a couple different lists that could school ya' on resin casting. Bob Hayes and Rick Gondeck are fantabulous casters! There are others, like Jody Michealson and Ol' Hermit, But Bob and Rick stick out in my mind. Check out there work over on Largescalemodelers ... www.largescalemodeler.com/welcome.htmland check out the Molding & Casting section. These guys take there resin seriously, and are always willing to share tips and tricks. Oh, and they are SERIOUS largescalers!
