I've done quite a few impressionist paintings of abandoned vehicles this year and I've done a lot of impressionist landscape paintings period. Finally I decided to experiment with applying the impressionist style I've been developing to a shiny car, in this case a vintage styled hot rod, one of my favorite local cars; Attachment DeletedDavid

Very well realized David, certainly more successful than my own attempts at 'cubist' hot rods. Which have the misfortune of being seen by most as a somewhat stylized junkyard. I've been sneaking cars, mostly rods n' kustoms, into my 'fine' art projects since high school in the late 60s.
if you'd like to check out some of my work google; missionatsistsunited/robtburg, (sorry this old geezer has not yet figured out how to link you up) or just how to post here.
Keep up the good work, you getting better all the time, as Von Dutch told me 30 years ago "The world still needs craftsmen" ..

Is this you? www.missionartistsunited.org/artists/149Lots of cool stuff there. At some point I'll probably take up some sculpture. I noticed the cardboard hotrod, you get that idea from Tony Sikorski? www.afasjournal.com/2011_august/page25.html I'm impressed with your semi-surrealist paintings, (sorry, don't know what else to call them.) impressionism is as far out there as I'm going to get. Very cool! You captured the light nicely, particularly in the background and the highlight/colors on the upper cowl.
