Back in the 60s, I built a number of models and put some in long-term storage. Many of these were un-built or partially built models that were garnered from neighborhood kids in trades, gifts or unwanted discards. Those in storage were recently unearthed and my strong desire to return to the hobby is belatedly renewed. However, since being isolated from the hobby for so long, I have no real sense of what the monetary value is of these particular models and kits . I would certainly prefer to start my return to the hobby by beginning with the least expensive model and go from there.
1) What model is the most valuable, the least valuable and the middle-of-the-roaders in terms of monetary value in the market? (I am not necessarily interested in selling these. It's a historical preservation issue.)
2) Since most of the models are incomplete regarding some key parts and their boxes, is it TRAKable to use parts from one model on another if the model is to be stock? IE., using a Ford interior in a GM model. I have a number of spare parts and decals from the 60s, so if these parts/decals are used in the re-build of some of the models , would the builds then qualify, even if they are from different models and kits?
I really appreciate any and all comments. Thank you very much.
These models are un-built, mostly complete, but with no boxes except where noted. The year and manufacturer of the models is accurate to the best of my knowledge. If you know better, please inform me. I've been away from the hobby for a long time and most of the boxes are absent, so I cannot verify a lot of them by this method.
