While I'm pondering the Cougar project, I'll ask about these: Are these wire wheels within the guidelines? They are going on a '58 Impala custom.

I'm not an expert on wire wheels, but a bunch of cars were available with wire wheels in the 50s. I know Buick Skylark wire wheels were a hot item at that time. Borrani wheels were used on the first GT40...and I think the later Cragar Star wires look awesome on customs even though they're edging into lowrider territory.
The wire wheels pictured look fine to me!

I think they would slide since Kelsey Hayes wire wheels were around in the sixties. Correct me if I am wrong guys.

I just read some info that Kelsey Hayes wires were available on '53 Caddy and Buick cars, and Motor Wheel wires were available on '53 and up Chryslers. K-H also made wires for '62-'63 T-birds, so I'm thinking these might be okay.

I kinda got sidetracked on the Cougar project, among others on my bench! HAHAHAHA I'll rock along with this build, and, quite naturally, open it up to opinions and suggestions as it goes along. Thanks for your help, gennamen!!

anything 1969 and older is welcome, styles and parts available until 1969 with the appropriate ideas during those years.

Thanks, guys! I have the PUMA GT thread started. The '58 Impala has been an ongoing project for about seven years, now. I'd like to start at the beginning and bring it up to date in its own thread. I have close to 40 photos on the build, but wouldn't have to post all of them. Will that be okay?

Not exactly. It started out like this: The one on the left is the one I used for the trailer. It came out of the mold like this. Unusable for a full build.
