Kit has Jag rearend. Custom frame. Independent custom tube suspension. I've chopped the roof. Want to show it but not unless I can show the car completed.

? I know we all like to see works in progress, so share away! Maybe post it in the "is this Trakable" section first.

I know some of the kit parts aren't quite trakable, or are borderline. The XKE rear end debuted in 1961, & some rodders were adapting it or creating their own, (such as on the Don Tognotti King T), as early as the mid 60s, so while not common, it wasn't unheard of either. I'm thinking more along the lines of some of the kit parts have a serious 70s vibe, at that was the era Lil' John Buttera built the 1/1 car Revell based that kit, (& others), on. I haven't had mine out of the stash in so long i can't remember just what though!

I think maybe we would like to see it just the same!?! If the guys don't mind too much? That is a kit that I have had interest in for a long time. And know nothing about!!

I assume we're talking about one of the reissues of this kit: I hate to be a buzzkill, but Revell's "Li'l John Buttera" kits were state of the art seventies' "high-tech" rods and will require some serious work to backdate to something remotely "TRaK'able"- Not saying that it can't be done, though...

I think this can be made Trakable pretty easy just replacing the frame and running gear which should be pretty easy and straight forward, the stock model T frame can either be shortened or lengthened if and as required.
The frame from the AMT Fruit Wagon or any of the longer wheelbase Model T kits such as the '27 Touring should slip right under the Revell '26 Sedan Delivery running boards and body. Maybe someone can verify high frame you need from their stash, I have the AMT T's but not the Revell Sedan Delivery in my stash, so I can't tell you for sure. There is a seller on ebay who breaks up kits and sells them piecemeal, I've bought a few engines frames and such from him for a few projects, cheaper than buying a whole kit for just a few parts. Next find a pre-48 rear end and transverse spring, front axle from '32 or earlier kit which wouldn't need to be chrome sitting under fenders. Motor and trans, anything from a flathead, model A or B banger with a Riley or the Fronty Dual Overhead from the '27 Touring, even a Nailhead Buick might fit under the hood and side panels. There shouldn't be much if anything that needs to be changed on the sedan delivery body unless there are some oddball pans in the front or rear, those should be easily backdated if there are. I haven't had either of the Buterra T's the sedan or sedan delivery in a while so other than the seats and probably steering wheel would need changing too.
A Revell Model A Woody frame and running gear might fit right under it too but will likely require modifications, it should be right around the same wheelbase, this would give you all the required running gear to backdate. Unless you were going back to stock, no one would be upset about it, maybe you if it didn't fit!
Backdating the Sedan Delivery and adding a set of steel wheels would make this look great in any decade you place it. It would make a great looking hot rod shop truck. If you take on the challenge let us know what you come up with!

well..I took the Revell frame and dropped it under the AMT 25 T fenders...is a perfect fit. With that being said....the AMT Frame is a bit short in my opinion for a perfect fit of tire to frame appearance. SO...let the confusion continue! lol

The AMT frame is easily lengthened using Evergreen plastic rectangular rod, you might need to pin it for stability. Unsure if op fenix has already done the Buterra "Space frame" under his Model T Delivery or not. I think he may have been asking if it was OK to post pictures of it or not. I'm just giving an alternative to using the modern frame for one that can be made to work from stock to a mildly hot Rodded earlier car without a great deal of scratchbuilding. cturner, you didn't mention which AMT '25 Model T frame that you used or was it the '27 Touring? Even in the same scale it's not surprising that between two different manufacturers there would be a misfit from one to the other, it's normally in how much tolerance that the model shop allows and how it was applied. Figuring that the AMT frames were tooled in the '60's and the Revell in the '70's it's not a surprise that there is a mismatch between frame and fenders even though they are both 1/25 scale, I think Revell was probably a little tighter with their tolerancing than the others from the start.

I used the frame from a 25 T..not the 27T...and...it was from the double kit of the roadster and chopped T..(IF I remember correctly that is!) lol yeah..it was from that one!
