Started this build around 15-20 years ago, and when i saw HotRodTom´s Z16 gasser build i got very inspired finish my own. As you can se i did move the both axles forward to make it an FX Gasser, Hilborn stacks and fat rear tires, but i got disapointed of the painjob and poor bondo work so it went down in the box again. But here we go again, the plan is pretty the same but the kolor is not gonna be red this time, gonna strip it and redo the bodywork for a start.

Been searching parts for this one all over my place, much happens in ten years and many parts weren´t in the box... got a feeling this evening and finally got some work done. Decided to try make my own fenderwell headers and to make room the innerfenders had to go. Much better... Instead of innerfenders i made new reinforcements running from firewall to the frame, also made a new crossmember for the straight axle. When i started this build i shortened the chassi but i didn´t filled the gap between fueltank and rear bumper, thats the next thing to do.

Some aluminiun wire and a cable lug... Cuting off the plastic and at the end of the lug we got an header collector. It turned out to be a real pita but after spending the whole evening i finally got them done, gonna cut off the "collectors" a bit, because right now they are a bit too long under the car.

Not much action here, but the paint is off and right now working on the poor bodywork done years ago. The chassi is exteded at the rear and innerfenders done Have been doing much thinking about the paint, searched the internet to get ideas and BAM!!! my car suddenly appears on the screen, it looks spot on the car i got in my head when i started this build, i´ve never seen pic of that real car before and after some research i found 1/25 decals matching the car, there were no turning back. Google "Seatons shaker chevelle" mine is going to be a tribute car and not an exact copy, i´m gonna use the straight axle and the paint is gonna be chevy orange and white.

I had it in mind to build a Chevelle like this. I think they suit the AWB look more than some. Nice job on the headers, but I think your valve covers are upside down.

but I think your valve covers are upside down. Haha yeah you right about that, this engine built 15 years ago so it´s an old sin, maybe i´ll try pry it loose and flip it.

Love the AWB cars. Drag racing lost something when they went to flip-top funny cars IMHO. I wasn't familiar with the Seaton Shaker so I googled it like you suggested. Unlike the Mopar AWB, since the Chevelle had a frame they lifted the body off and moved the whole thing back 7 inches. I only knew about the unibody Mopar's and the chop they made to the undercarriage. OBTW great work so far.
