So, I've read the rules about what is trakable, but I did not see anything about patina type paint jobs. Is patina trakable? Thanks Robert

Things might have changed, but while a certain amount of natural looking weathering is ok, overdone weathering is not. And rat rods are a definite no-no. So patina is likely a judgement call, & I feel the judgement might be against patina.
Myself, I prefer vintage style rods/customs clean & shiny like they were kept originally. But, that's me & I'm not speaking for the mods.

I've shown some patina style weathered rods here that have passed muster. I think the key is that they be period correct in other respects and, most importantly, that they are sincere efforts to respect the spirit of the TRaK guidelines. Other builders over the years have, likewise, displayed worn and weathered rods with success, including winning Model of the Month when that was still happening here. Attempts to sneak through contemporary Rat Rod style models under the guise of "a car that a teenager on a budget back in the day might have built" usually end in acrimony. I and many others have built and shown plenty of primered and satin paint job cars here on TRaK but here are 4 of mine that have included actual worn or rusted patina. From 2020, Revell '29 Ford Roadster From 2019, "Faded Glory" '48 Ford Barn Find Street Rod From 2018, '32 Ford Dry Lakes racer for 2019 NNL West The Race of Gentlemen (TROG) theme Probably my rustiest TRaK submission, '41 Plytmouth Barn Find Gasser, from 2016

I'd forgotten Bernard's 48 Ford & somehow missed the others. Those look great & it's easy to see how they fit in here.

patina is fine, long as it looks natural as in progress usually looks when you find a project car. overdone rat rod stuff won't fly though. if you aren't sure just show pics and ask.
