I was at our club’s annual Christmas luncheon kit exchange. I wrapped a Tamiya 300zx. I’m not much of an import guy. I was the last guy to get a kit. I had a choice to steal someone else’s kit or the last wrapped kit. While a club member had a Revell 40 Ford convertible hot rod kit,I choose the last wrapped kit. This Amt/Ertl 32 Ford Phaeton with this caveat. Build for The Northwest Deuce days.

I have been doing some bit work here and there. It is a version with the Vicky fenders and interior. So aside from the little post it, it didn’t have any other instructions. So I am not only modifying the Vicky interior, I am going to kitbash it with the Revell 32 Ford 5 window. I have been wrestling with ideas. Small block Chevy? Kit small block Ford? Kit Hemi? I also have the wheels from a junk Revell roadster with some redlines and slicks. I am unsure how I want to build it.

Some of my progress. Wheel wells cut out to fit the Revell fenders. Back seat from the Vicky interior shell being modified for the longer Phaeton.

I have been going back and forth if I should fix the sweeping body issue or just leave it. I would be fine with it either way.

I personally would leave it, most won't pay it any attention. There seems to be so few 32 tubs built, it'll stand out either way. Paul

Cool, we don't see a lot of Phaetons getting built! You've made a solid start so far

Excellent wheel and engine choice. Going to run the top? Paul

Thanks Chris and thanks Paul. I am unsure if I will run the regular top, chopped top or no top at all.

A little progress. I got the fenders, frame and bumper brackets painted. They look good. A little spit shine. Be alright.

I broke in my airbrush. Folk art shiny licorice mixed with pledge. I wanted to try something with my air brush. I think it turned out fine.

Interested and following along. I have one almost finished. Stalled out on the dashboard fitment to the body. Rather a pig of a kit. I hogged out and modified the rear of the body and fenders plus interior to get the wide wheels to fit. Using the Revell fenders was a wise choice. Getting a wide tire to fit within the front fenders also requires some modification. For me the chopped windshield and top are too low for such a long body so my plan is to use the standard windshield and top. Good luck.
