Hey guys, gotta run this by ya. I have these 2 kits but some of the later model (What year is this Nova?) parts are missing. Maybe I'd like to use some Funny Car parts (Front clip for instance). Or. maybe I can return the wheelbase to stock on the Funny body using the remains of my mid 60's build, and use the chassis and whatever from the late model I can to build a stock body, tube axle mid 60's Gasser. I hope I wasn't too confused typing here. I've got the body soaking in the stripper tank. It's looking like it ain't stripping very well. Maybe I need to slip a twenty into her waistband. Do ya think? Gary Hosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

The top one in the 1st pic is a 72, if I remember correctly, so it's not Trakable.

Mark, and everybody I just did some research. I believe the Old Pro is a 70. Either way, outside the box for TRaK.
Anyone have any thoughts on the funny? To unfunny!

They used the same basic altered wheelbase chassis for all the amt awb kits. I am pretty sure they did. Especially the 65 Malibu time machine awb. The chevy II though is a 63. I think.

It looks like the 65 would be Trakable to me with the right parts on it.

Yeah, I kinda resigned myself that I'd be building the earlier, TRaKable version here. I'm having big trouble trying to get the old paint off the old body though, the only paint that has come off after 4 days, is the silver I used on the trim. I really want to return the funny wheelbase to stock. Thanks to everyone for the comments. Gary

It normally takes one and a half to two days for the primer and paint to come off. After you take it out of the brake fluid make sure that you wash it real good with dishwashing fluid (I use Dawn). Then sand it down and wash it again. It works for me every time. Oh I almost forgot to mention, don't throw the brake fluid away you can use a strainer to get the paint out and use it a few more times.
