Good job! Excellent job on the figures too. That guy leaning on the front fender is really convincing too. Gary

Looks great Mike. AMT sure got a lot of mileage out of that chassis set. Be nice if they reissued the Pontiac version.

Thanks guys! I can't take credit for the figure painting those are American Diorama pre-painted figures.

Just got the Fremont Racing "Texas Twister" decals for mine, so the paint will be "Really Brite White"! Besides the Tempest, in my stash I also have an unbuilt Rat Packer and Mustang reissues to follow up with. Not sure If I will do the "tinwork" on the Chevy II or Mustang, I'll decide that after seeing how much fitting and fiddling the Tempest entails. These old AMT AWB cars take me back to when they first came out, I had all of them on my shelf at one time or another in their first issues. When I was younger slathering on some brush paint to the details and a decent rattle can paint job was good enough to impress my buddies and the few "contests" that I entered with them, (not so much now). LoL! Will be starting a "Texas Twister" thread when I get seriously building on this one, it's been languishing in a Stero plastic shoe box for way too long. It's been moved to the bench in same shoe box so that's a big start!
I really like yours, it shows just how far "detail painting" goes on a Box Stock Build, something that had to be really difficult on one of these AMT A/FX cars. That paint is amazing too, the fade makes it! Those American Diorama figures add a whole lot to your pictures pre-painted or not!
It's funny too how all the talk about the "Big Block" Chevy engine is so undersized. However, in that box stock engine bay, it is hardly noticeable at all you see it as a BBC and your mind fills in the rest.

I'm looking forward to seeing your build with the Twister decals.
