Is the steering box from the Revell 32 Ford trakable and what is it modeled after?

Looks like a Corvair box to me. They were used a lot back in the 60's before the Vega box became popular.

It's a copy of the Speedway Motors Aluminum Vega Cross Steer box. Paul Its not a Vega box. On a Vega box the pitman arm is under the car and the draglink bolts to the right spindle. That's why its called cross steering. On the Corvair box the pitman arm is on the left side and the draglink bolts to the left spindle and that's called traditional steering. So that steering box on your model is very trakable. If it was a Vega box it would be too new because the Vega came out in 1970.

In the Revell 32 kit the box mounts as a cross steer box, converting it to traditional works in this build either way. Paul

Thanks for clearing that up. I modified the box and glued it on THEN I clued in that its off a modern rod and possibly not TRAKable. Glad I don't have to hide it behind the tire. Now I can post update pics.
