Man, that is gorgeous! I recently discovered a sealed Slingster kit in my stash that I had forgotten about. Need to crack that bad boy open and build it.

Turns out to be a really Sharp early Dragster! Nice!! Like that color, the driver figure looks right at home in the cockpit.

Very clean build of an under rated kit. Thanks for sharing. Mostly because a few "experts" panned it because of the lack of knowledge. Their two major whines were: One. No idler on the blower belt. Early set ups used shims or extra gasket to move the blower up for belt tension. Two. No fuel pump. The early pumps were developed by Stu Hilborn and mounted between the block and the distributor before timing cover pumps were introduced by Potvin for the front blower case cover.

Another I've heard is undersized rear wheels/tires. I love this kit, glad I bought a couple when they were new. It is so well engineered, it practically falls together (like the midgets that came out around the same time)

I've had this kit, unopened, for quite a few years. Maybe today's the day. Gary

It is so well engineered, it practically falls together (like the midgets that came out around the same time) Wheels are 15 x 6 and slicks are 8.50 x 15 period perfect in my eye. Slicks are a wide band subject for the early mid 50's. Most of the early day slicks were recaps... Moxley, Bruce,Marsh and Inglewood Tire ( one of the largest suppliers). M&H, Casler and Hurst ( not the shifter company) were the few making 100% new slicks. The tire set up the "experts" say should be on the kit are 10.00 x 16 or 11.00 x 16 only problem with that is they came out is 1961 and 62.
I have 6 or so unbuilt and 4 or so built. I love the kit. I think my blown Studebaker one is on here. Paul
