I built this in 2003 and posted one in-progress pic of it and got fragged. I came across the pics on an old computer so, time to post it again on it's almost 20th anniversary in exile. It is based on the 1963 Ford Custom Caravan Alexander Brothers built T Bird with the 1960 / 61 Strarliner roof. I saw the resto modded 1 to 1 at a show in 2003. Color is actually Dykem Lay Out Fluid over Silver with Tester Enamel Clear top coat.

Beautiful build Paul!
However blue 1:1 (1962) Thunderbird with the Starliner roof is a modern custom built some 15-20 years ago, whereas the original "Custom Car Caravan" 1963 Thunderbird "Parisien" still exists in restored condition.

Wow, love it Paul. Looking at the B/W photo versus the resto mod there are some fairly noticeable changes. The resto mod seems a bit cleaner. Love the rocket ship blaster taillights and the body color bumper between. Not what I would expect for the time period. Way cool.
To be clear, the paint is that stuff I used in high school metal shop to spread on sheet metal so that I could scribe a line right? Nice candy paint. Does it come in other colors?

Same stuff and it also comes in red and really etches the plastic, a lot of clear and sanding to make it acceptable. Now I'd just use House of Color Candy Blue.

Thanks Paul. Considering the extra work of the paint your build is even more impressive.

Thanks for the info, I took the owners word on it. In this folder, you'll find some photos from the restoration of the original "Parisien" Thunderbird: link

Nice job on the roof swap and the finished build is top-notch. I do wonder what it'd look like with the roof shorter in length, so the "C" pillar would meet the body somewhere in line with the rear wheel opening.

I have one with I started about 10 years ago, with not only the roof shortened but narrowed 2mm and chopped 2mm. I should get it on the bench again (along with my Aztec and radical 57 Chevy) instead of it sitting in my box of dream builds.
