It looks great Dennis. Surprised you took the chrome off the grille shell. Thanks! A big flake of chrome peeled off at the bottom so I stripped the whole thing. It may stay that way and be painted or I have others if I end up wanting chrome. As the car evolves it will let me know.

I noticed that too, don't need no chromium on a Standard Ford anyway! LoL!! Probably look pretty good with the Radiator Shell, Headlight bar and headlamps the same as the sheet metal (like a standard). I've always thought that most '40's and Model A Fords looked better in standard sheet metal than some of the De Luxe's especially when Hot Rodded. Kind of like walking softly and carrying a big stick!
Henry had Mono-Chrome Pallets long before any of them young whippersnapper Hot Rodders even thought of it!! "Give them any color as long as it's black"!! Which I think I read was not attributed to Henry Ford (Sounds good). It was something that was said to get Mr. Ford's goat, about Ford Motor Company's rather limited color pallet, Black Washington Blue, Green, brick Red, Tacoma Cream... Long before there was even a GTO! (Didn't even realize that Henry had a GTO, (Goat) either)! Probably would have been a black one though! LoL!

I'm always blown away at how clean your builds look in-process. What do you use for sticking parts together for mock-ups?

I'm always blown away at how clean your builds look in-process. What do you use for sticking parts together for mock-ups? Thanks! I use multiple ways of mocking them up. Many parts are pinned, a dab of Elmers white glue or the tiniest drop of Zap A Gap that can be effortlessly snapped apart. Then there’s good old friction and gravity!

How in the world did I miss a Woody?! I like the work and the stance you have accomplished. BUT.... NAH on the wires. To my eye, they have always been out of scale in the size of the spokes. And, it is a REAL pain to cut, drill and fill with wire. Just me. I have done it, but it has to be a REALLY special build for that kind of commitment....
This one? Hmmm..... With a flattie.... And some Smithy mufflers, and maybe a couple Stromberg's.... Theres my half a nickel's worth....
Coming back around to look at this again, as I stepped away and had to look again:
You are building YOUR woodie. I ain't knockin' any of your choices. I always see something in your builds that I didn't think of doing myself. Keep going maestro!

UPDATE! This past Sunday wasn’t very productive. I got a late start at the bench and decided to work on fitting an exhaust system. Sometimes it clicks right away and sometimes I end up staring at it for 3 hours. This time was the latter but finally my brain started working and I was able to rough-in the pipes and mufflers from the trans cross member back. Then the dinner bell rang and so ended my bench time. The mufflers are from the dual pipes in Revell’s 1948 Ford Convertible and pin to brackets added to the frame at the molded in hanger detail. The front tubes are sections also taken from the 48’s dual pipes. The rear sections are part of the dual pipes found in all of the Revell 1932 Ford’s. So far the sections are just pinned together. That’s all for now. Next I’ll tackle the front sections which will have to have some twists and turns, made complicated by running the pipes through the cross member rather than below it.

Cool. I've never been that into woodies, but I like this. Exhaust looks good, much more thought has gone into that than I usually bother with.
