I bought this rebuilder off my buddy Bart. Last thing I think I completed was the Amt/round 2 Vicky box art “Lil Viky”. I have worked on things but haven’t really got anything done. I had something similar I was building. Idk may get back to that one too. Anyways I really liked the black fenders that seem to be molded plastic. So I will probably paint them black after priming and filling. I chopped the top a scale 3 inches After I chopped the top I decided to,of course shorten the bed. Anyway I seen what people talk about needing to bob the fenders after shortening the bed. So out came the razor saw again. I bobbed the fenders a scale 3 inches. I decided to keep the spare tire well and use the tire cover from the Amt/Ertl 32 Vicky. I am unsure but I also wanted to channel the cab. I think in 1-1 that this would make for a very cramped ride but it looks so cool. Any comment welcome. I still creep around here but don’t comment or post much. I hope you like the work I have done and enjoy this build.

Thank you for the comments and interest B.B. I don't think it was painted green. I primered the cab and bed before cutting them up. Lol I think a green would be kind of tight color for two tone.I kind of had a colour in mind for this already though. A pearl Pink from an old Martha Stewart spray can. Might try it out on a scrap body first though as I have never used that type of paint before.

Your mods are making a good looking truck even better. You might want to spray a plastic spoon with proposed primer and color coats to check on paint compatibility and to see what shade and gloss you'll get. Keep up the good work.

Nice work with modifications and changes that you've already done, and also the plans you have for the future. These old timers make a very respectable model. Gary

Thank you for the kind words Gary. Yes they do indeed. A few mods here and there some parts swapping a nice lowering and we hit greaser territory.

Very nice chop. If it was mine, I'd channel just the cab and grill shell , but not the bed so the channel on it doesn't look radical. Some where on here is a 53 F100 I chopped and channel with bout doing the bed, it is in my view still proportional. Paul

I was unsure if I wanted to channel the cab. So I went ahead and channeled it Paul thankfully reminded me about the grill. So I channeled that as well instead of chopping it up. I will get to work filling and sanding. I am really pumped about how this little pick up is turning out. In some of these pics you can also see the mods I done to the stock? dropped axle. I cut and dropped the axle ends high up on the axle and shaved the leaf spring quite a bit. I hope this lowers it enough for my taste. Also you can see I will be using the Pontiac engine from the ‘36 Ford kit. I will be throwing the diamond tuck buckets from the ex Rat Roaster at it as well. I had the parts pack from the 57 ford 500 as well so I want to use the gold and white walls tires

Looking good! You’ve got all the requisite custom mods done. Chopped, channeled, bobbed bed and bobbed fenders. The Pontiac from the AMT 36 Ford’s is a good fit in this truck but I found I had to make some spacers under the motor mounts so it sat level. Also, rather than modify the floor I instead shaved the top of the trans and bell housing. This was a super simple project and once it’s all together you’ll never see that this is done.

Thanks for the tip Dennis. I appreciate the comments and tip. I was looking at how it sat in the frame and wondered. Thanks for the heads up.👍🏽

Love what you've done so far Ray. To my eye the bed sits too high in relation to the cab. Perhaps if the tonneau cover wasn't on then the line would be right. My 2 cents. No matter what I'll be following along.
