just started this last week as a slump buster. Going for a mid 50's mild custom. Shaved trim and handles, skirts, lowered and a few minor custom body touches. Also may use the new AMT Kesley Hayes wire wheels on it. I do plan on an unusual Ford engine swap for it.

A bit more. Took a barrel burr and frenched both the headlights and taillights in about 3/32", still need to fill the headlight ring seams. Got it primed and have a few spots to fix. Working on 3 trim spears for the Quarter scoops and forming up a modified 1955 Pontiac style side trim. Skirts turned out to be an issue. Because of the lower character line on the front lower quarters there is not any easy solution aside from redesigning at least half the character line out. I feel it is not something somebody just cleaning up the lines would invest in. So all I'm going to do is just bring the front of the factory skirt down to the bottom of the rocker panel. That will match the 1953-54 Almquist catalogs choices. Modified stock style or chromed stock style were the only ones listed. Primer did not show and "trim" ghosting...phew!

Got the body mods where I liked them and after trying half a dozen trim designs for the side I just added 3 spears on each side scoop. I added a 2mm x 4mm part on the front of the skirts to fill the front of the wheel opening. The top has the final White Pearl color on it and in a few days I'll shoot the Evening Orchid on the lower body.I'm still deciding about the factory continental spare.

I've got the color on and clear coated. I learned that the Evening Orchid color is also called Dusty Rose Iridescent was a Cadillac color and until 1965 was a special order option for Chevrolet and Pontiac. The paint I used is made in Great Briton and is a quality Acrylic Lacquer. Matched the real color perfect match I think.

When I was assembling my front suspension yesterday, I was confused by the instructions for the spindles. Looks like they swapped part numbers on them.

Paul, That Chevrolet color really works on your Ford, the flake really stands out. In your pictures the flake almost looks like a "Bass Boat" size in scale, that's probably the cameras magnification, but it looks cool. Build on!
I didn't see where you mentioned the source for your Ford Six, what kit did that one come out of. I'm looking for a Ford Six to model my brother's '53 F-100 in the "Before" it got Hot Rodded and restored.

The flake look is from the Mr Color Ultra UV Clear I used. It seems that until it is polished out the flake is magnified. The 6 is the Moebius 1969 F100 Custom Step Side. It's really sweet 240/300 unit.
I was going to back date it to the 215 c.i. by cutting the head off and turning it 180 degrees but got lazy
