Excellent! You obviously mastered the challenge of the funky resin casting! Love '52-'54 Mercs, stock or custom. Those handmade Packard taillights are outstanding.

Thanks to all! Like I said, it feels great to get one done again. I've got a Flintstone model A coupe custom that I've been working on even longer(years)...now maybe that one will finally get finished!

'54 is my favorite year for Mercs and yours reinforces that opinion. Great build. Sounds like you stated with an R&R casting.

Those taillights came out great. Thanks for sharing It's kinda ironic, I went to the trouble of carving them out of red plastic for realism...but when I put the trim around the edge I couldn't make a tight enough radius with plastic to make the center chrome strip. I ended up bending wire that I needed to attach with epoxy. That made me paint the tail-lights with red metallic. I could have just started with plain styrene.

WoW! This flew in under the Radar so to speak. I think I remember you asking a question or two about this project but we didn't see it until finished that's cool! Surprises are neat too, especially when it's an Outta Sight Kustom Kemp from Koolsville!!
What's not to like, '53 and '54 are also my favorite years of "Stock Bodied" Mercs, they can be customized into really sweet customs as yours points out rather nicely too. I've only tackled one body like you mentioned this one was. It was for a customer who brought me the body. Otherwise, I am sure that I might have slid it back in the stash pile if it were mine! LoL! So, I really commend you for your stick-to-it'veness to produce such a great 'Lil Kustom Merc" so right out of the '50s it needs a guy in a letterman's jacket and a gal in a white sweater and poodle skirt covering those seats! Those color choices scream fifties. Really like how you got it low, but not too low it's a driver so it's not rubbing the rockers off itself. A set of "dummies" or functional side-pipes might look good on it, but the restraint it took not to add them looks great.
You've got a "Blue Ribbon" winner in this one, even if it's a "Pabst Blue Ribbon", it's a winner for sure!

Beautiful build! Great job on those taillights and all the custom touches you did. Very nice work on the two tone paint job too.
