Thanks Paul. Good idea. I also seen a Toronado restored with 66 Riviera glass. I also need a windshield post and rear window surround to fix the Toronado.

I've made windshield posts with a foil mold and UV cured epoxy. It trims, sands ,glues and paints like regular plastic.

Ever since I saw Tim Boyds vintage kit review on the Toro a few years ago I've had my eye out for those custom front and rear parts (although I would need a Toro to mount them to as well ). I like the overall design of the Toronado itself and think it would make a cool mild custom too. But man, the custom design on The Californian is...not my cup of tea (even if it was designed by the legend harry bentley bradley) I'll be following along because I think you're on the right track. That hood is going to take some work to meet the front end. Wonder if there was a custom hood that mated to that custom front end or if the Californian is that much shorter up front?

From what I can tell the Californian has a hood that doesn’t transition down to meet the front end like a stock Toronado does. It bluntly stops to meet that crappy pimp mobile grille. I want to try cut, extend and curve the hood back down and also make custom headlight openings.

The glass from the AMT '69 Riviera is a drop in fit. plus it doesn't have those awful raised ridges around the perimeter the '66 has. The windshield pillars could also be grafted in , same parts on the 1/1.

Awesome Steve. I have one of those in the stash. Might have to steal the glass from that for my Toronado.

Thanks to SteveMillbery and his suggestion for the Amt 69 Riviera in my quest for glass for my original 67 Olds Toranado I have found a hood, dash and seats for my Californian build. I am unsure if I just want to graft the front section of the custom hood from the Rivera to the “stock” hood from the Californian or modify the Riviera hood to fit the Californian. What do you all think? I like both hoods.

Well here is where she’s at right now. I decided to use the stock hood with the rear of the Californian hood attached. Unsure if I will just fill the depression of the riviera hood or not. Still trying to wrap my head around that one.

Is it too late to graft about 15% of the front of the stock Rivi hood to most of the rear of the stock Olds hood? From here it looks like it would be a lot easier to meld them together. Gary

I dig the idea. Could maybe carry the peak of the tornado hood into the "cowl induction scoop" of the California hood. Maybe just thin the peak a touch. So many possibilities. This has me thinking along the lines of the prop cars in the original DeathRace2000 with David Caraddine and a young Sylvester Stallone. Tom

And I thought a Lincoln mark V hood was long! 🫣
