Thank you Carl and Charley. I have the bed from the parts pack or I was going to attempt to graft an amt model t turtle deck on. I am unsure if I want to throw either on. Maybe I'll just throw the fuel tank on the perch.

If I may throw my two cents in? I think the turtle deck is not really in the correct proportion to look right...the really short bed on this body and frame is too short and the little fuel tank looks like it was just placed there and not really a part of the car. The parts pack bed looks best to me on this one. MAYBE try to find one of the short BIC lighters and make a larger fuel tank for the back? I've seen that done and it looks really good. OK..am done now...Thanks for listening

Which is this cobbled together Parts pack T. So I didn’t just throw it on there. Thanks for your input though. I am sure you are of aware of the history of these kits though.

I think I should say too as a drag vehicle, the idea to save weight would have been present, hence a small fuel tank big enough for a run down the track. That’s all. Not disregarding your input, I appreciate it. Just a train of thought I have on this.

oooops...I did NOT mean that YOU just threw that fuel tank on there Ray...it just LOOKED like it was "thrown on there." Make sense? I am sorry if I made it sound that way! I AM familiar with the Revell two packs from ages ago. Heck...I'M from ages ago !!! lol I still have them and have to look at them now and then! I have a couple of them in some state of assembly...somewhere...should get them out I guess.

The "problem" visually with the longer bed and turtle deck is the wheelbase, the center of the rear axle should be almost centered in the bed or turtle deck. The proportion of the turtle deck appears to be on the money as its also 1/25 scale it's just the centering of the axle and wheels that makes the eye think that something is amiss. I like both the longer bed and turtle deck as they look slightly different from the commonly seen short bed.
I would say go with the short bed if you aren't going to adjust the wheelbase out for the long bed and turtle deck. The other suggestion that I would make is to place the Moon Tank under the bed, maybe with the filler bung up through the bed tarp.
Just a thought...
