Looks great! Where'd the tiger tail come from? Ditto on the Looks Great!! Who's '27 Body is that? Looks like the one that Chuck Most was selling a while back.

Sweet build, nice tail too. The Banjo wheel looks so real. Whose PE kit is it? I'd like to use one in my 36 Roadster.

That's a cool looking build! Love the tigers tail! Thanks...I entered this in our local Hobbytown model contest and got a third place win. There was only one automotive category....after getting my clock cleaned for years by NASCAR Formula 1 and factory stock it was gratifying to get recognition for a vintage TRAK model .

Thanks guys...sorry I haven't responded to the questions...
I have been in cancer treatment most of 2024, two chemo treatments to get my blood disease in remission, then I bit the bullet and went for the bone marrow/stem cell transplant August 1st after a donor was located. I'll spare you the detail (UGH) but happy to say I'm on the mend and back home, still doing a lot of immunosuppression meds which have curtailed my model building activity for a year (my doctor does NOT want me around solvents and chemicals) but I'm planning some builds during my downtime.
Answers to questions:
BANJO STEERING WHELL: The vintage banjo steering wheel is an excellent product from Model Car Garage (# MCG-2004 Banjo Steering Wheel Strait Spokes) A little finnicky with the photo etch center part - that fits inside the resin wheel. The cool thing is they give you a tiny PE (microscopic) V-8 emblem to put in the center that is real nice when you put a drop of clear epoxy on it.
TIGER TAIL: The tiger tail was the result of a lot of experimentation. I took a short piece of wire, rolled it in super glue and then rolled it in orange upholstery powder (don't remember which brand name at the moment). Rolled it several times with a little more glue in places until it built up to the width I was looking for. I probably did four or five before I got what I wanted.
After shaking off any excess powder and flexing it to the shape so it would lay nice on the curved body, I took a really fine point black marker...(Micron brand #005/.20 mm) and used some photo reference to draw on the stripes. (in nature they are more haphazard in spacing and width and not exactly uniform like you might think). When I cut it to the desired length I had to leave some bare wire to hang the tail around the stem of the gas cap.
The problem was the wait on the PE gas cap...which I needed to determine length of the gas cap stem and bare wire loop to hang the tail. Sourced a good one from Brazil from a guy on Ebay.
27 T BODY: Started with an old 1999 All American Models resin body.....never got the paint up to standards on it so I switched to a back up Jimmy Flintstone body ....very similar.
Think that answers most of the questions.
