This might seem like a wasted move, but I want to show that this pig is back out. I lost interest in it, but for unknown reasons a few friends of mine keep nagging to finish it. One reason it sat for at least a year was because when I put it away the first time, the box and instruction paper acclimated to the finish on the clear coat. I had it all polished out glass like. There was a bunch of craters in areas after sitting for about two years. Today, I pulled it out and washed it off with hot soapy water and after it dried, I cleared 3 wet coats over the whole thing. (hood was not in need) I plan to wet sand and polish the roof again, probably later tonight. Back when I was building this, I thought about putting some color on the roof....maybe stripes like the Ramchargers did. Not sure what yet..but here it is again with more clear and it looks like it leveled it all out again! This sat long enough for one of the slicks to burn into the dash a bit....I use vintage tires quite often...I just wish they didn't do that.

sitting here trying to keep my mind off my sorrows. did some cutting and fitting to adapt the kit dash to the resin tub. there will be some minor gaps around the tub to the body, but hopefully the glass will distract attention from that. I have to re-polish the body because if you saw previously I cleared it again because it had some probs. I have it on the bench now and isn't moving until it's done. I have some Scale Motor Sports interior decals I will use on the seats and the rest I hope to paint tan and brown. Since this car is so "wide open" I am willing to listen for suggestions to take up the space inside. I thought a moon tank sitting at the tailgate would be a good start. Don't want too much in there because the car needs lightness for racing.

I'm not feeling so bad about some of my long term projects now. Thanks for saving me a couple $100 bucks Bob. After seeing that you've been at this one for 25+ months, I no longer have to go to the Counselor for my unfinished build anxiety. It's looking good, no doubt it will be outstanding when it's finished.

I really like this! Those wheels and tires are great!
Just a thought, though... maybe it's just the photos, but the black in the door lines is a little too strong.

I did that after paint and decals...tried to remove it when I saw how dark it was but it wouldn't come off...so I went with it. I might still be able to tone it down though...but it's under 4 coats clear.

I never saw the interior for a 60 Ranchwagon before, but I was planning to do a brown and tan combo on the interior because I think it would look good and natural with the body color....not to mention my 1:1 62 Fairlane had same colors inside. I googled to get some ideas and I found stock interiors that were same colors I wanted. Remember...this is a wagon turned into a drag car, so I am keeping it real. Now the only prob is I don't have spray colors like this..I might have to brush it.

looked on google for some more info and photos. I found the interior available in "browns" was done with plastic vinyl and woven fabrics Beechwood Brown and Beige. I have the Beige, but the brown I am using is Burnt Umber....damn stuff is dark so I will most likely be dry brushing a lighter brown over it for that worn vinyl look. Looks like shit now, but the lines will straighten up when I get the Beige on.
