this hobby is so much fun! sometimes you steer away from the original plan because of how you feel....the plastic is your "canvas"! I might do a little "light' weathering all over the car....gonna look like an average used maybe retired drag car....might be more fun eh? I won't overdo it on rust...will be minimal.

I know I am talking to myself here..but I am thinking I will leave the interior alone the way it is and polish the body out, weather the chassis and engine compartment only. I just want it to look like a "driven" car that was turned drag wagon. Sound good? Yea Bob it does!

What if you put a couple slicks in the back?

What if you put a couple slicks in the back? not a bad idea, I was thinking of that. Right now I am torn between making it a used drag car to a retired one. Not sure yet...will see how I feel as I go.

Bob - I love this project!!! I have a Hubley Wagon laying around, now I know what to do with it! Did you mention a 1:1 1962 Fairlane? I had one until last year, had to sell because too much rust... Will post in 1:1 section later!

Will post in 1:1 section later! thanks, yeah I did have a 1:1. my grandma bought it for my graduation, I chose it. It was a 4dr, but had only a little rust on the lowest part of rear quarters, 53,000 original, not rolled over miles! Interior was cherry , ran like a new car, on it's original or second set of tires, original brakes and exhaust.....I miss it. I was young and inexperienced...my wife (then fiance) racked up a huge phonebill and I sold it to pay the phonebill like a moron. If I had known any better I would have made payment arrangements or told them to eat me and go to another phone company.

I am not going nuts on this thing, but the interior needed something. I added a tach like the one shown in the 1:1 photo. It's just out of the parts box with aluminum tab for mount and guitar string that resembles the real thing.
