thanks George! here is a for fun shot. I am really sick right now, it hit me that maybe they need wheel weights too! I dunno if I will add them, I will have to do some head scratching on that.

love the tip on the lug nuts and guitar string! i know the Nascar builders have been using those fittings for awhile as lug nuts. i remember alot of cars having the really long rear wheel studs, i have a few sets in the garage actually.
alot of guys make wheel weights from dabs of white glue painted aluminum with a little strip of foil or paint for the metal clip.

Wow! Nice nuts! However I'm thinking you might have a case of AMS (Advanced Modeling Syndrome) which will compel you to keep finding details to add. It may not stop with the wheel weights, 'cause if you add them, AMS will dictate that you have to add something else to keep the level of detail consistent, and soon you and your wagon will be sucked into a vortex of ever-tightening levels of detail... Can working vent windows be far behind?

thanks, I didn't know they were doing that. I just thought of it spur of the moment because I looked at the rims and they didn't have any lugs...would look dumb without some hah! I know many drag cars have longer in the rear, many times because they change them out from the factory ones. That's right! I forgot about using foil for weights...thanks! AMS.....damn I gotta tell my family. Sure!!! just bring up working vent windows, you should also know that I have cantresisttemptationitus. I actually lowered my brows and looked at the windows....

Been emailing with Charlie of Pro Tech today. I am short of "nuts" so I am getting some more to finish my wheels. Charlie is a great guy and his prices are not bad at all. I have been dealing with him for about 3 years and he is a paid advertiser on www.thedpmcc.com The parts he offers for the most part are not TRaKable, but as you see I used his fittings to make nuts on my wagon....so there are some things you might consider. He does a very nice set of valve stems, but they are not on my wheel above. www.protechmodelparts.com/

While this body and interior tub came with a nicely molded rear bumper/taillight assembly....it's not chromed and I don't want to spend money to ship it off nor do I have Alclad...SO....I am using the Starliner bumper and removing the tail panel so it's exactly the same as the Ranchwagon set up....and will have chrome on it!

Took a little playing around, but I got it to fit, damn near like a glove too! It's not snugged up, just taped for the photo. Of course some tiny chips of paint came off where I filed and sanded, but that's easy to touch up.

if you build this using the engines provided in the '60 kit, would you not? they are very nicely detailed right out of the box. some spark pulg wiring and heater hoses are really all you need to add besides careful paint detailing.

you guys are TOO much! haha! While I wait a few days for the nuts to get here, I think next thing is make sure the grille fits up front well and then start polishing so I can foil. (gonna be a lot of foil punishment)

I cut one side of the foil with a ruller for the side trim.........then, all I had to do was trim the underside of the trim down the side of the body........more concealed if your trim line isn't perfect. I guess you could try cutting the foil to fit exact, but that's pretty tough in light of the trim getting wider towards the tail fins! LOL! Ed
