Is it my imagination or did the previous owner get carried away with the sandpaper around the back end? If there's too much of the contours sanded away, I can send ya pictures of the proper shape so ya can rebuild it. All ya gotta do is ask.

I'm leaving the filler panel, but will restore some of the stock contours. Thanks for the offer, but I have a stock built one on my shelf.

Got a couple coats of primer on the hood last evening. It came out good. I have more work than anticipated on the back end. I'm restoring some of the stock contours, and molding in a scratchbuilt roll pan. If I don't get too busy on other things today, I'll post more pics this evening.

Making slow but steady progress here. I've restored some of the stock contours to the rear end. I've molded in a roll pan. It's laid out to rescribe the tailgate opening and drill out for tunneled tail lights. The hood is finished. I was able to smooth and hide the etching. Hopefully the body will come out as well.

Shot the whole body with primer today. OMG! It's worse than I thought! This is gonna take a lot of sanding and priming to hide all the problems.

good progress just keep on it, fill sand prime, fill sand prime, fill sand prime. it will get there. Got any pictures of how much mud was in the rear tailights? I love ripping out old filler on models to see how much got got slapped on. The record is about a 1/4 inch.

There really wasn't as much filler then as there is now! They are completely filled with it. I've added a lot of filler ( Evercote Metal Glaze) to square off the rear cornors and rebuild some of the contours.
