Finally getting this straigtened out! I need to rescribe the door and tail gate lines, then one more good sanding and coat of primer, and it's ready for paint.

This tailgate is making me crazy! I've just re-scribed it for the 4th time! Gonna primer it again and see how it looks. Trying to scribe through new styrene, old styrene, and 2 different types of filler is diffucult to say the least.

I painted this last evening. This is DupliColor Metalcast #MC204 Purple Anodized over DupliColor Metalcast Ground Coat. The ground coat is a silver that is very dense with metallic particles. The Purple is simular to any other candy. I used 3 coats of the base and about 7 coats of color. I can see using this base under other transparent or candy colors. Try it at your own risk! Anytime you mix paint brands you run the risk of failure. When I have some time, I'm going to experiment some with this.

a suggestion...maybe apply some thin pearl white scallops that follows the lines of the body?
