Started this project on saturday and have been going on it straight for the past few days. Revells 29 ford pickup truck. I will be building the closed cab version. Here is a crappy picture of the chassis which is all painted and assembled minus engine. (its not in bare plastic the frame is painted gloss white) Body colour is a secret.

Ok here is the colour. I still need to move the grill shell down further. Its all just sitting together now and the cab is sittin higher then it will when done. (oh yeah and the drag link isnt attached to the steering arm yet...it would be a pain to drive it at that angle)

lookin good I wanna do mine fenderless too show me how ya did the bed and how did you lower the front end Those are the things stoppin me from doin mine fenderless Thanks To lower the bed I cut out the floor of it from the back bed panel up to where the plastic bar is on the bottom. I removed this piece of floor. Then I notched the bed sides to lower it onto the rear crossmember. I also had to file away at the bed sides to get the rest of the bed to drop over the frame. The bed is only channeled the width of the frame. I also cut a simple bed cover from thin styrene sheet so that the rear crossmember would not be exposed. To lower the front I used the dropped axel from the kit. Next I trial fit the cab and bed on the frame. Then i marked where the front of the cowl ended on the frame. I made another mark a few milmeters rear of the first mark. Then I cut the frame straight on that mark. Next I took some 080 sheet styrene. I cut 2 pieces 5 milimeters by five milimeters. I glued them to the top of the frame. Then i took the front of the frame that I had cut off and glued It to the side of the sheet styrene. Some people like to z'd there frames at the front of the frame whre everyone can see it but I prefer this method because the z'ed is hidden by the cowl and it is more pleasing to the eye. If this seems confusing let me know and I will draw up a diagram... actually I think I will draw a diagram anyways....but not tonight cause im signing off.

I love the fact you didn't chop it, it looks very cool, especially with the whitewalls and Cragars!

gmc, alot of the guys running these 1/1 are using the bed pieces that are attached to the fender unit of this kit see if i can explain this but the peice that the bed fits on, on the fender unit........IMO if ya cut that loose from fender unit and installed it on the bed, then it will help to hide alot of the rear Z and add a lower sight line on the bed (make it look even lower).........But that just my opinion and dont take me adding that lil tid bit as me sayin i dont like it.......cause beleive me i DO like it........looks good cant wait to see it finished Thank you everyone saoutlaws: I agree with you 100 percent. I was trying to figure out what to do to get rid of the ugly frame from being exposed there. Actually I was planning on scratch building something but your idea sounds like a much better plan. Thanks again.
