this is my newest project, which will actually two builds of the 1:1 Bill Kelly/Gerard Christensen '32 Ford 3-window. this is the practice car and will be a replica of the car when Bill Kelly still owned it. i will use what i learn from the building of this one to build the second car that is going to Gerard. the second car will be built as Gerard has requested and will be more what it looks like currently. both will be Cadillac powered, but with significant differences. my big challenge will be duplicating the 1:1 car's chassis details accurately. This is one of my favorite hot rods. I was planning on replicating this car at one time in its current condition but I never got around to it so I look foreward to seeing both of the builds.

i don't believe i've ever seen the Kelly/Christensen Coupe, so seeing your build will be a treat Dave.

heres a pic of the real car. nice old 50's hot rod that has survived. very east coast styled. it was unchopped until not long ago. i love the east coast style of unchopped, channelled coupes. you guys may have seen it before! Dave

Great seeing that it is being preserved and kept unrestored.

here are some update pics. chassis and drivetrain is almost worked out. stock type front axle with wishbones to match the 1:1 car's from the 50's and a '48 Ford rear axle. the second chassis will have a dropped axle with drilled and chromed split wishbones and the same rear axle with a quick change center section. aah i love that car, i saw it recently in ither ol' skool rodz, or car kulture deluxe How'd you like to see it in person? If you're anywhere in Mass, you're less than a day's drive away from the Saratoga Auto Museum...the car's part of the 'Barn Finds' exhibit, which is there thru late January. www.saratogaautomuseum.org/index.php

the museum is in upstate New York from what i understand, which would be a trip for me from northern Virginia. i would love to see the real car in person, but it may not be until i'm finished with the models. when they are done i'm taking them to Gerard in person.
i wish i had some progress to report, but i have been doing more research on the car and working on another project or two in the mean time. Dave
