it wasn't really a tutorial. Matt showed his project in his own posting and a few of us asked him how he did it, so he graciously showed what he did. Thank's again Matt!
i finished up the interior of mine today, just have to put the windows in now. the chassis and engine details are going to be fun working out! Dave

got some work done on this today. here is a pic of "the Mill"! the little spark plug boots had me nearly going insane, but i figured out how to get them on there without losing most of them. i made the headers and the radiator hoses too and got the engine in there for good. i'm going to check the hobby shop tomorrow for some square aluminum stock to make the fuel block from. Now ya got me wantin' to build a rod with fenders. Nice job! Rods have fenders? Since when?!!! Just kidding! ;D Great lookin' EC ride here buddy! Stance is drop-dead gorgeous and that mill is outstanding! Really like the pulleys and the heads, but that SCOT blower just tops it perfectly! I might have to try that wheel trick on my next duece. Did you soak 'em in the purple lake to get the chrome off?

thank you for the positive responses guys!
Tom, anything i want to strip the chrome off of i drop into a bucket of ammonia. it takes off the chrome but not the amber/brown lacquer stuff under it. to remove that i then put the parts into a ziploc bag and spray them with Dawn Power Dissolve. let that sit for a day or so and usually the lacquer stuff is gone, wash them in hot water and then paint them. what i like with both products is that it is safe to put both down the drain and both are water soluable. Cool! Kind of an eco-friendly way to get it done. Might have to investigate that further.

i should have this one wrapped up in a few days. just a few small things left to do on the chassis. i dont really like the look of the kit shocks and mounts in the front, so i'm stripping the chrome and then painting the parts. i'll add a piece of pin for the shock shaft to make it look better. this one went pretty quick!
