Not seein enough scooters on this forum so I thought I would introduce some builds that have been sitting on my bench for way too long. The first is another model that survived somewhat from my dads collection. Fonzie's Triumph! Now this is pure traditional to me! This is my basketcase in its truest form. I got a triumph trike as a parts donor to start this chop. The next is going to be inspired by how they do it in Sweden. Long and Low....This one would have been done along time ago, But it has an Evo in it and I would rather it was a shovelhead. Hotrodtom, This ones for you!

If you need inspiration, I have a lot of old swedish magazines with choppers, but which era are you going to make it look like it was made in?

Bob, I like the taillight treatment that you did on that SPARTO taillight. Nice bullet! Headlight is a little small from factory, but, HEY! It's a BOBBA!!!!!! Loose the front fender, get that rear fender a little closer to the tire, and KEEP those fatbob tanks that are on it! Oh, and leave it that color! Perfect!!!!

Not seein enough scooters on this forum so I thought I would introduce some builds that have been sitting on my bench for way too long. ... Fonzie's Triumph! Now this is pure traditional to me! ... The next is going to be inspired by how they do it in Sweden. Long and Low....This one would have been done along time ago, But it has an Evo in it and I would rather it was a shovelhead. Hotrodtom, This ones for you! Thank you! You made my day with this lil' 500! I loved that bike and THAT is one of the things that got me interested in jockeying when I was a crumb-snatcher (along with the fact that we had an "El Forestero" house just down the street, so I got to oogle over nice scooter-trash rides daily. As for the RMK 1/12 th choppers. I used one for "Double Tire Desire" (see ... trakinscale.proboards105.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=on&thread=1189138793&page=1 ) and was pleased with the results, but dissapointed that it did not come with a more "traditional" motor, like a shovelhead. I have been kickin' around the idea to scratch one up (shovelhead) and maybe even a knucklehead or best of all, a FLATHEAD. The frames are ok on the RMK kits (they could actually use more tabs for engine mounts, etc), But I really am not THAT much of a long-bike fan. Oh, I look at 'em, and admire them for what they are. Two-wheeled freedom! I just like the simplicity of a bobber over a long-bike. I just gotta get out of the dreamin' stage, and get into the doin' stage. Thank you for this post, I might start scratchin' with some plastic now! Hmmmmm, I'm envisioning a nice Swedish Triumph/Norton with skinny rear tire and a long girder fork and high-bars and....Oh, wait! It's YOUR build! ;D

Hotrodtom... Glad I made your day. I'm all over the long bikes! I like the bobbers just as much though. I'm liking the skinny tires in the back that have been showing up on some of the Sinners bikes. They look bitchen and will probably be the inspiration for the triumph. I'm gonna try scratch building a longer rear rigid with stock rake. Metal flake paint and a few kustom touches here and there.
I bet those 1/12 RMK choppers will be a big enough success that they tool up some shovels and pans. I got my fingers crossed for them. I built one box stock... Maybe I'll post it and see what happens. It may not make the cut... Too many stupid cookie cutter parts in the kit.

... It may not make the cut... Too many stupid cookie cutter parts in the kit. Like I said in my "mini" review on DTD, customize the hell outta them! I only used the engine, frame, fork trees, tires and wire wheels on DTD. Oh! And I heavily modified the tank to look like a Triumph tank. The rest of the parts are still in the box, probably gonna become fodder for somethin' NON-motorcycle related. I have been kickin' around a couple of long-bike ideas, just can't commit to them. I too would like to see Revell/Monogram (or whatever it is gonna be called now!) retool and do a knuckel/shovel or even (holding my breath) a PANHEAD! What I would like to do with a pan! Oh well, at least I can TRY to scratch somethin' up. I will try to watch THIS thread often and see how yer comin' along.
