Before modifying the hood, I removed the plastic in front of the door line. Here it is with the kit hood on. I used pieces of the custom roll pan from the kit to add on to the hood. After lots of sanding & filing, it fits pretty well. I also start sanding the rear fenders to get them more into the 1950 look. Before sanding, I added filler to the inside of the body since I knew I would be sanding through the plastic. I still need to work the fenders a bit more, but it's a start. Steve

Where's the link to the original how-to for the chop? I bought one of these kits and I want to try and do it too. Thanks Jason Lincoln, NE

Fixing that hood makes a world of difference and the fenders are gonna be great. Almost makes me wish AMT had had the foresight to make the more desirable body. Go, figure.

First 51 Chevy I seen anyone do with the right hood mods, the way the 1:1 hoods look. I never taken the time to do it right either. Great looking custom.

You work is amazing! Its incredible the amount of detail you are putting into this. Could you please elaborate on what you mean by filling the inside of the body? Did you fill it with plastic or filler?
