I grew up on the North edge of Detroit. Altho I left in 1952 for the service, I have a good idea of what the average Squirrel was driving on the streets during the 60's. We didn't have Sunset or Hollywood Blvds, nor a Barris just around the corner. Nor did we have airbags. To get into the weeds, there was lowering blocks. ;D

your right Geezer, I used to ride my bike over to the trend kustom shop to see the Trendero on display and just sit and stare into the window at it , I understand now it's being restored to its former glory GeorgeC

Jeeze, fellas, I was just planning on throwing this together with out any hoo-rah, and then layin it on ya. I stalled on my 55 panel because I don't know how I want to paint it. I'll get some fotos around. I have the kit's flathead done ( complete with hole thru the block), suspension done, and now foolin with the body.

I changed the name of the thread. For those that may not be familiar with the J C Whitney reference, They were about the only game in town for mail order car accessories back in the day. Chintzy and cheap was the norm. Here's a photo of the chassis and one of the base painted body. Body is painted with spray bomb lacquer from Ace hardware. In Florida's humidity, I can get varoius shades of oxidized paint with lacquer. This was a dry day, so I didn't get much haze, but I live with what I get. ;D

This thing is moving right along. I have more done since these last photos. Just need to wrap up a couple of details and I can take it to the garage for finish fotos ) I figured these yahoos would't have a decent top cover, and I didn't want a top on it, so I tried to scratch a top in the down position. This taxed even my patience, so it falls a little short on accuracy and detail. The hardware came from the 28 Lincoln Gangbusters kit. I think it was meant for a luggage rack. I never built that Gangbusters kit, but I sure got a lot of parts for a lot of different builds out of it! Canvas is a strip of T-shirt material.
