Thanks a lot guys, glad you like it. No color picked out yet, I was leaning towards a dark green but my first thought was solid mile-deep black. Though it may be a solid deep blue color too. Have to wait and see. Matt gets the gold star for the tail lights, that didn't take long! I wasn't really sure I liked it though, but it was at least something different. After I faded the quarter panel into the light and got some primer on it, I think it looks pretty good. The bodywork there is pretty rough still, I just needed to see it all in one color to decide if it was working. After seeing what the kit's sombrero's looked like with the '39 for tires, I had to mock that combo up on my '49 sled and it looks great there too. While the Chevy was out, I started on the rear hood fix posted my mr. Steve Boutte, thanks Steve! trakinscale.proboards105.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=trakinp&thread=1195440602&page=1#1195440602

Matt Trotta figured it out. The only reason I did was because I was eyeing those parking lenses as possible flush-mount taillights for my own build, and I recognized the shape. Eric, this Merc is puuuuurfect.

The taillights almost look like trimmed down '59 El Camino units. Nice fixes so far. Great job on the skirts, looks fantastic. Really like the "rounding" treatment that your doing. Makes the whole car look "fatter", in the right way. Keep it up!

nice work! i have always like the stock grille, but you know what would cool? AHEM..oops! a machined or photo etched one that you could see through! *don't think anyone makes one?* that is just my opinion, i still like the kit ones looks good on there.
